What is an ACI certified technician?

American Concrete Institute Certified

ACI Certified stands for American Concrete Institute Certified. The American Concrete Institute is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards, technical resources, educational programs, and proven expertise for individuals and organizations involved in concrete design, construction, and materials, who share a commitment to pursuing the best use of concrete.

J.J. Kennedy, Inc. is very involved in this independent educational organization.

Why is it important to have a qualified technician at your job site?

Our technicians can travel to your job site; giving you the customer the opportunity for on-site testing of your concrete. Our technicians can work with you, our customer, to ensure the mix is ready for placement on-site. Whether our technician is working to adjust your mix on-site or at the plant, directing on-site truck traffic or coordinating with dispatch; they are an additional resource for you. One more way, J.J. Kennedy, Inc. remains a step ahead of our competition in service.

In response to growing environmental and economic forces, architects, engineers, developers, and owners are seeking efficient, innovative building solutions that conserve non-renewable resources. Increasingly, concrete is being recognized for its strong environmental benefits in support of creative and effective sustainable development. When considering the lifetime environmental impact of a building material—extraction, production, construction, operation, demolition, and recycling— concrete is an excellent choice to meet these goals.

J.J. Kennedy, Inc. is one of the few ready-mix concrete companies to operate fully-functional concrete reclaimer units. Currently, three of our plants are using a reclaimer on a daily, load by load basis. A reclaimer unit is an investment in the future. When a truck returns to the plant; it uses the reclaimer to recycle (or reclaim) any raw materials from the contents left in the truck. The reclaimed raw materials may be reused in a variety of ways.
